I have an MSI 6330-Lite Motherboard, which includes Via's AC97 Audio Chip.
I have gone a few months with no problems, and then one day "unknown" shows up in my device manager.
So I click on it, and it turns out to be the wave device for my modem.
I installed it using my modem driver disk, but after rebooting, the volume control icon has dissapeared from the task tray and I get "device in use" error messages when trying to play any sound through the computer.
The rest of the drivers seemed to be intact, but after some frustration I removed and reinstalled several times. It reads "Via Hardware Audio (WDM)" or something similar, and no exclamation or signs of problem.... but still the device in use error message persists.
Ideas?
Thanks in Advance
