Interesting... I bought the Mad Dog one and the only visible difference between it and the chaintech is the Mad Dog has one more optical connection. The Chaintech one has a space for it but it wasn't added. Other than that, the two cards look identical.

Good call. I've got to wonder, though... How do these cheapie cards really stack up against the Terratec and M-Audio cards based on the Envy24? On the plus side, the Chaintech card has a TOSlink plug while the M-Audio only supports coax. Which does the cheapo Mad Dog CUSA card have?

Here's a nice test someone over on AVS Forum did with the Mad Dog. Also, it appears that it doesn't support ASIO or Kernel Streaming.
