Watched mythbusters last night , They briefly showed some amazing cameras :

'Phantom' high speed cameras.The one they were using did 720p at 27,000 frames per second.
That's 24.8 billion pixles per second !

That's not a U3 SD card !

I wonder If I could get that 'colored chalk powder' thang to go in nice snow.

I'm certainly gonna try this season , won't be that good but....I guess I need to win the lottery for that camera !!

phantom seems to have cornered the market. absolutely no competition in slo mo hd video from canon, nikon, nor sony for the prosumer market. really strange.

I tried shooting like 120 fps or 240 fps. You need a lot of lighting to shoot high-speed -- kind of obvious if you think about shutter speed. Would still love one of those things though. I'll actually settle for whatever Anthony Bourdain uses.

You are totally right about the lighting.I usually film 1080/60fps on my gopro when I ski , but I've filmed at 90 and 120 fps too.If it's not a sunny day , it's blue .... even just the shade side of a mountain on a sunny day can get waaaay blue.

I'd say the ONLY competitor for Phantom would be RED , but they don't 'reallllly' do slo-mo.
$ 30,000 gets you into RED 5k video.
