Kudos to Nissan and Mitsubishi, great performance by them.

Biggest surprise to me was the Corvette, it should have been able to outpace the NSX and Evo, but it wasn't even close...

That was no standard NSX. It was the NSX-R I believe.

The NSX in the vid was an S-Zero... lighter and more stiffly sprung than a standard NSX ... but not as light as the NSX-R. The S-Zero is comparable to the Zanardi Edition we had here.

i think that was a tad bit unfair for the Corvette, with the price range of other cars well above 70,000 (except Evo); why can't they select the Z06 instead?

So... then the NSX-R would possibly have done better.
I wonder why they didn't use the -R.

I guess that doesn't really matter. It shows that the NSX S-Zero can beat out the 360 Modena.
It aint all about horse power folks

You can't just base that on one video.

I have the vid where the NSX-R keeps up with the Lambo Murcielago... but then gets blown away in the straights... lol.

hey, is it the one where the Lambo races BOTH the NSX-R and NSX-S, Skylines, Porsche, and Ferrari?

I'm not basing it on just one video.
The performance numbers for the NSX-R is pretty close to the 360 Modena.
And the NSX has also been compared to a super car like the Zonda.
And what takes the cake is that the NSX is a daily driveable super car.

A super car does 0-60 in less than 4 seconds. As far as being driveable every day, sure, that's what Japan is good at, every day cars.

It's stupid to judge the performance of the cars in this manner. There are different drivers, different starting positions... This says nothing about the cars, and a lot about the drivers. They need to take one driver (the Stig) and have them take each car around the track by itself.

It was an F50... a 911 GT2... the Murcielago... the NSX-R... and two other 911s that got left behind... lol.

So I guess the the GT3 isn't a super car ?

You've been hypnotized, haven't you? (Top Gear reference)

No, the GT3 isn't a super car. It's a great sports car, but it falls short of being a super car. A true super car outhandles pretty much everything AND outaccelerates pretty much everything. Lots of cars are good at one, only super cars are good at both.

Just finished watching (had to watch yesterday's Las Vegas first), but great video! It was very impressive to see the GT-R and Evo keep up with the 911 Turbo...I was quite shocked to see the Ferrari so far behind, so I wonder what the exact reason for that was.

thanks again OP.

The driver was probably admiring the interior, and thinking about the girls he'd pick up in that car... (Referring to the last video I saw w/ that goomba)

So beautiful... I'm gonna cry next time (may be years from now) I roll up to a guy in a Modena in my V-Spec.

I haven't seen the video, but if it is anything like the others, these tend to be misleading.

The last video I saw, the RX8 vs all, the ITR had a bad ranking in the video, but when you look at the "time attack", the ITR actually ranked 2nd.

*weeps for the corvette*

In all fairness, they should have been using a Z06... but whatever. The driver just couldn't handle the car that well.

Its seems the best motoring videos are rigged....? If you watch the lap times, they are not consistent overall. They stagger the drivers and the lineups to get a result that they want beforehand.

I assume if they had some sort of control lap, where 1 driver drives all the cars to get a set laptime and stagger the cars based on overall laptime.

People mention the driving skill, that shouldnt really account for much....anyone that has raced even amateur racing, knows in that higher levels, diffferences amongst drivers are in hundreths of a sec, not the huge variances in lap time we are seeing from cars that should be fairly equal..and those are pro drivers. I'm thinking some of those drivers are trying to throw the race and/or palying unfairly to get those results.

I think so... there's no doubt the Boxster was out of place in that battle. I've driven a Boxster... it feels slow. Handles well but on a course like Tsukuba, the straights will kill it.

I'd love to see an Exige/Federal Elise though... considering it can nearly keep up with a F40 (the Ferrari kills it after 100mph) and definitely catches it in the turns, it's a great example of Colin Chapman's ideas.

I wanna see UK supercars like the TVR TuscanR or even just the Tamorra in that mix.

The 911 Turbo car cheated the start, rolled his damn car in first gear before everyone else even dropped the clutch.
