Hello, I guess I'll start by giving some computer info: I have an Asus V7700 Deluxe (GF2 GTS) w/ VIVO running under Windows XP with the 14.10 drivers. I use the Asus WDM Video Capture driver and Asus DVCR 2.0 software to capture my footage. The DVCR software captures into mpeg2. I have 256MB PC2100 RAM, and a 40GB 7200RPM Maxtor HD. My processor is a 1.2 GHz Thunderbird.
I captured a TV show (hour long), but what's really annoying is the audio is about 1-2 seconds early...so it's out of synch with the video. :| How do I fix that or prevent it from happening?
Also, I used to use VirtualDub to cut out the commercials, and save it as an AVI encoded in DivX...but now, after I've reformatted (I was running XP before also)...it won't open my mpeg 2 files. Why is that? Are there any other programs that I can use to cut out commercials, then encode in AVI?
Also, are there any other programs that capture in mpeg2 format? I've tried capturing in AVI and have found the captured files to be much bigger, with many annoying scan lines.
Lastly, should I capture with the framerate set at 29.97 or at 30?
I know I have a lot of questions, and thanks in advance for any answers I may recieve,
Zack
