video card fan died

i have a gainward nvidia geforce2 ti and the fan just died and literally fell off. it has a 2 pin connector but everything i've found has either a 3 or 4 pin connector. i was wondering if anyone could make any suggestions on what to buy as a replacement hsf? preferably on newegg...

I had the same problem with my vid card and bought a hsf with a 3 prong attachment. I solved it by connecting it directly into the motherboard. If you have an extra case fan connector on the mobo you can use this.

not gonna work. the geforce2 ti gets plenty hot. you need active cooling for it. i am currently cooling my geforce 2 with a 80mm fan duct taped to it. memory temps lower than stock and gpu temps are higher than stock.

I have plenty of passively cooled ones that work fine. The HS gets warm (75C) but all is well and quiet. If the original fan dies the stock HS gets overheated quickly. The stock heatsink on these is pathetic for surface area.

Geforce2? Sounds like it's time for a new Graphics Card.... splurge $50 on a 9200 at least (it should be hellabetter than the Geforce2!), instead of $30 or whatever on a heatsink.

THis has the 3 pin connector. Need a 2 pin. I bought this by error.

Use an adaptor. If you are tring to find a fan that plugs directly into the video card, I do not think that you will find one, unless it comes off of another card just like yours. You can plug in the crystal orb into a free MB outlet or get an adapter and plug it into the powersupply.
