Video card missing pins?

I have a video card that is missing some pins (teeth) on the front of the key. I am wondering where/if I can get this repaired, or if a steady hand and a circuit writer would work. Googling brought up nothing for me. It seems the connectors were scraped off, and is missing 7 pins, on the bare pcb side. It is a pcie card, and the front pins handle power.

Thanks!

Hopefully that link works, haven't used image shack before.

Did you buy this card new or something? Would you have pictures of what you're talking about to help aid in your description of your issue?

from your blurry pics those traces don't look 'missing' they look like they were burned off. something on that board caused a current surge that made the connections heat up so much they burned the board and peeled off. that card is probably fried and whatever motherboard you put it into will probably go with it.

every modern card has multiple layers (4+), I don't think you just can solder that on the top level...

Yeah, that doesn't look like you're missing pins to me, is looks like they're still there and burnt to a crisp.

If all the pins looked like the two short ones to the right, I'd say you might have a shot. But the 3-4 middle pins look like they are completely missing, and it would be pretty difficult to ensure your new pins are making contact with the lane in the pcb.

How did that happen? I've never actually seen that before on a pci type card.

i believe that little section of the slot has the +12v pins? if those are indeed burns, i would guess the 12v rail of the psu that card was with is toast.

I will try to get better pics, and yes it does seem that it may be burned. I have not put it in a motherboard, I got it from someone else. The pins are indeed missing, along with some of the plastic on the pcb. I can see the ends of the pins sticking out from the color on the board, so I can get connection to the metal, if that is all it will take.

Yes, I believe these are power on pcie cards, but as such, if the power is connected on top, wont that be enough? Doesnt a gx2 use ~200w? If so, an 8pin+6pin should cover that (I think it is like 150w for an 8 pin and 75 for a 6?)

Thanks for the input guys! Keep it coming!

If you even plug that into a board I really don't know what to tell you... not "may" be burned, those are burns. You can't just feed something enough electricity to burn it's connection and expect it to work again...

OP said there the pins are physically missing, along with some of the plastic on the pcb. Not sure if burns are the only possible cause.

One thing is certain though. That card is no longer functional.
