My problem is that my computer keeps freezing whenever I load any game, or look at certain types of videos on the web (the ones that play in an embedded windows media player). My current setup is a AMD 3000+ running windows XP service pack 1 and my video card is a Geforce 6800XT 512 mb. This is the first time i've had problems since i set it up in about mid july.
What happens is, if I load a game or watch some videos on the internet, everything runs fine for a few seconds and then the whole screen turns into fuzzy gray or blue lines. In order to do anything, I have to restart my computer.
I *think* it's a problem with my videocard, and to that extent I've tried reinstalling the drivers, which did not help. I've also tried uninstalling the last thing I installed (which was java), and, when that did not work, I tried doing system restore to a few days before the problem started occuring. This did not fix the problem either.
I know the fan on the video card is working and it does not seem to be overheating, the temperature monitor itself shows a normal temperature and the card itself isn't overly hot, as my computer case is open.
Can you guys think of anything else I should try if the problem is with my video card, or, if not, what else I can do to fix it?
