Budget $150-$180.00 like to stay around this price range. I recently upgraded my system to the i5 3570 and Asrock Z77 Extreme 4.

Thinking of getting the below Zodac 1.28Gb 320- bit GTX 570 $169.00 shipped. I'd kind of like to stay with Nvidia for the Cuda support it seems in more video editing programs vs. AMD and the GTX 570 320bit which is a plus for video editing. Anyone have this GTX 570 Zodac and how do you like it? There is only 3 reviews on this card.

Usage
Video editing for home videos.
Some gaming BF & Cod series games.
I don't OC.

To me looks like the GTX 570 for my usage would be the better card over the AMD 7850 2GB 256- bit which I was also considering. I also looked at the AT bench on both cards and the GTX 570 looks pretty good to me.

Any advice or other cards you would recommend for my usage in my price range over this GTX 570?

That comparison is pretty impressive since the 5xx series is supposed to be "last gen" tech. Until you get down to the power consumption section, anyway. Holy crap.

That 570 is a new budget model based on the 670 PCB. You won't find many reviews. I wouldn't necessarily trust that board with a high power use chip like a 570.

I'd advise you to instead aim for a GTX660 in the $210 price range. Nvidia doesn't have anything worth buying under $200 unfortunately. You already have a 460. I don't think the 570 is enough of an upgrade in performance or features.

I agree Vicaar, I was a little surprised I had to take a second look to make sure I had the 7850 & 570 picked in the bench comparison.

Termie I was going to go with a 660 till I researched it in video editing forums, the problem with the 660 is the 192-bit which under performs the GTX 460 256-bit in rendering video from what I read while researching this. So I eliminated the 660 for this reason as an upgrade. So this why I am giving the 570 320-bit serious thought for this reason and the gaming benches which kind of surprised me vs. the 7850. I want to stay with a 256-bit card or higher if possible for the video rendering side of things.

You said you don't think the 570 is an upgrade enough that also crossed my mind too.
The 670 256-bit is the way to go for an upgrade but just not going to spend that much for so is the reason I am looking at the 570 seems like the best bang for the buck for me so far.
Its an upgrade, but is it enough of an upgrade I am honestly not sure either way at this point.

If I were you I'd go used especially if you really want a last gen card. Just get a used card with remaining & transferable or serial based warranty. (Asus, MSI, EVGA)

They should be going reasonably cheap now as people upgrade.

Final thoughts and decision.

I decided the Zotac GTX 570 for $169.00 shipped would not be enough of an upgrade for the money.

Options I am thinking of, I want 256 bit or higher for video rendering.

1. Wait 2-4 months for a possible hot deal on GTX 570 320 bit or AMD 7850 256 bit for around $115.00 shipped.

2. Pick up a used GTX 460 256 bit for around $70.00 shipped for SLI.

Any advice or thoughts one way or the other going to a GTX 460 SLI setup?

BTW thanks for everyone that posted with your thoughts.

7850's are still hovering around $200 today. 6850's from the last generation are still hovering in the $150-180 range (despite the fact I got mine years ago for less!). Unless you plan to purchase used, I really don't know that the card will dip that low especially in the 2-4month timespan.

Vicaar I have seen the 7850 down to $139.00 I put this 7850 ( below link) in my cart about week or two ago for $139.00AR and 5 minutes later it went out of stock. I had to think if I wanted to go AMD because more video editors support Cuda so when I checked my cart 5 minutes later it went out of stock. So I am thinking if they have already hit $139.00 this year $115.00 might be possible in 2-4 months on a hot deal. I kind of want to stay with Nvidia for the Cuda support in what seems more video editor's support over AMD SP's support but might go AMD on a hot deal.

That was a Black Friday special. You won't see that price again for months. For now, it looks like you'll be paying about $180 minimum for a 7850 2GB.

Yeah your probably right I just going to have to be patient with my video card upgrade bug. If I don't go with another GTX 460 for SLI I am just going to wait if I see a good price on a GTX 570 320-bit or 7850 256-bit 2GB hopefully around $115.00 -$125.00.

Then just E-bay my GTX 460 for around $60.00 - $70.00 hopefully. Then this upgrade above would be worth it ($$) for my type of usage. You know I have a replacement warr ($159.00) in effect till late Dec 2012 on my GTX 460 in effect though MC and thoughts do go though my head. But I just can't bring myself to go this route if you know what I mean but I do think about it.
