Well, guys, I just found out that my old video card won't go into my ASRock 775 Dual Vista mobo. After buying memory, cpu (Intel 920 which I found out everybody hates), and mobo, I am just about tapped out. This mobo will accept AGP or PCI Express and I can't spend no more than a hundred bucks at the most, so I would really appreciate some suggestions before I do anything else wrong, like buying the 920. I did get good memory, DDR2 667. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for asking, the only gaming I do is Flight Simulator 2004. Mainly what I do is a lot of music and when you record audio into a computer it really loads up a CPU. I have been doing fine with a 64MB Geforce2 400 but the new mobo won't accept it. I think I could probably run the new Flight Sim X if I had a faster computer and video card, but mainly I am interested in the music so a powerful video card is not a priority. I just don't want to make any more mistakes!

I would say something reliable like a 1650 pro or a 7600gs....

Yeah... the AGP spec changed at some point, and the voltages that the cards run on were changed. The good news is that this happened a while ago, and if you look around you can find an AGP video card powerful enough for your needs for cheap. Used is your best bet. A Radeon 9x00 series ought to do it. I sold a 9700 Pro in the FS/FT forum here 2 years ago for $100, that ought to give you an idea of how little you should expect to pay for one of them now.

What about the Leadtech 7300GS for about half the price? I'm not a gamer, so would that do for me?

THeres a considerable difference between the 7300GS and GT, and between the GT w/ ddr2 and GT w/ddr3. The 7300GT with DDR3 is faster than a regular 7600GS in many cases, but the ddr3 7300GT cards in the USA are only 128MB

The 7300GS is an 'ok' entry level card but for price/performance we are going to shoot for $70.

Here are the choices:
EVGA GeForce 7300GT 256MB
JetWay Radeon X1600PRO 128MB

Now basically the choices is yours.

*The 7300GT has 256MB, 64-bit, 8pp.
*The X1600PRO has 128MB, 128-bit, 12pp.

I'm an Nvidia guy but I am now using an ATI X850XT because it offered me the best performance for my price range. So in your case, I would suggest the X1600PRO. It has less memory but the faster memory interface and the extra pipelines will offer you some more performance than the 7300GT.
