video editing help needed

I'm using Premiere Pro to edit some of the videos that I shot with my DV camcorder. I have them edited but I can't configure the divx encoding so that it will be a reasonable file size and still have decent quality. I have backuped some of my dvds onto divx so I can see that it can make a 2 hour movie fit on a 700mb cd with decent quality but I can't get the same effect on my 40 min videos? Any ideas on how to configure it?

Go to www.Doom9.org and download Gknot use Virtual Dub or Nandub to encode or edit your files they are the best editing tools available and they come free inside the Gordian knot rip pack .

Also if you require it there are loads of Tutorials to help you out on the doom9 website.
