Video editors that support 2+ CPUs?

While reading through a review, I noticed that not all NLE software currently support more than 2 CPUs. Do Pinnacle Studio or Avid Liquid qualify? Is there any point in getting a quad-core machine if my video editing software can't even utilize the extra cores?

Both Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas both support dual core.

Liquid does, Studio does somewhat, but I don't own V10. I have a dual Xeon HT and if I place multiple CPU effects, I take the system to 100%. I have done it with resize effects on stills and Ken Burns stuff while working on HD timelines and stills. MPEG to DVD conversion does not take complete advantage the last time I tried it, but I usually use Tsunami.

Thanks for the help. I found a useful comparison for Pinnacle Studio 10 that shows some nice increases over Core 2 Duo and single core processors, so it definitely looks like Pinnacle is utilizing the extra cores: TechSpot review


This site also shows a comparison, and specifies which file they were actually rendering (it seems to be a sample video called clowns.mpg): VR-Zone review . I'll have to test out how long that takes on my current computer and see if it's worth it.
