LOL - I'll admit it....I laughed. But I feel horrible for her at the same time. That just plain sucks. And people who don't feel totally bad have probably never put years of passion and practice into something......and no WOW doesn't count.

People are getting this wrong... Its not wrong to laugh at her, and in fact I think anyone would, whats wrong is to think less of her because of a mistake... It happens to everyone, maybe she was incredibly nervous, who knows, doesnt make her any less of an athlete

I'm not going to read through all the responses again, but I don't remember seeing anyone saying they thought less of her as a skier or athlete. It would be pretty stupid to think less of her for making a minor mistake that just happened to be at the very beginning of the run.

Kind of sad that in doing so she accomplished more than you ever will.

shrug, I didn't think it was that funny. I feel terrible for her. People make mistakes, who knows what happened, but I'd say that 99.9999% of the time she won't slip coming out of a gate. Given that she's an OLYMPIC skier, I don't see how you can really make fun of her.. yeah, she somehow slipped on the way out of the gate, but she's still one of the top skiers on the planet. shrug.

personally, i crack up at myself whenever i fall and/or really hurt myself. i always try and imagine how that must have looked to other people and then i can't help but laugh while in pain.
