Video Flickering evga 7800GTX KO

I just bought a new rig for video editing and thought i'd throw World of Warcraft on it to see how it ran.

Everything has ran fine for two weeks then on monday I noticed some video flickering. Yesterday the problem got worse and seemed to come and go the whole night.

I have a evga 7800GTX KO and the heat is registering at about 61c Idle. I've updated all the drivers. Thought it might be a problem w/ WoW as I saw no problems when editing. I decided to put 3DMark 05 on it as well to see if I had any problems. Same thing happened, video flickering. I have four 120mm fans in the case w/ good airflow. Now i'm wondering if what is hapening is artifacing and if I should get a pci slot fan to help w/ the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That idle temperature is way too high. It shouldn't be more than 45C so make sure your case isn't too cramped around the video card.

Why did you buy a 7800 two weeks ago when the X1900 was already out?

The heat does seem a little high...either do what Thor said and make sure you don't have case clutter preventing all the heat from being propery vented, or, if you can, sell your card to someone for somewhere around $300 and get a nice, cool, and better performing (when overclocked) 7900 GT. If you can really get some fool to buy that 7800 for, say, 400 bucks, grab a X1900 XT for only 50 or so more dollars, or a 7900 GTX if the price drops down to there also.

If you don't feel like doing that, just get an aftermarket cooler. AC NV Silencer 5s (Rev. 3) are better performing and quieter.
