I remember when my city made the announcement about switching to those, it was on april 1st, and I thought it was actually a joke. "Haha very funny, robotic garbage trucks". But it was real. lol.

The funny thing is, when they first came out they had nothing but issues and they ended up having to have a regular garbage truck follow behind lol.

But what were in the bins? i assume each color is something different. one yard waste, one recycling and one trash?

They surprised us with the same thing here and just dropped off these nice and very durable trash bins. Now I do appreciate the trash bin, I haven't had to buy a new one since, but a few years later they still have the normal garbage trucks with guys emptying them by hand.

Maybe in brand new pristine developments with wide open landscapes. Definitelynot in my neighborhood. What happens if you don't have a double or any driveway? can't put them in yours, on the curb? What if folks are parking on the street?

Yeah twice a week seems oddy often, seems like a waste. In winter I can get away putting my bins out like once a month. I avoid it in summer because of bears but in winter it's just frozen anyway.
