"The superintendent said he believes the gunman used a combination of live bullets and blanks. But police said live bullets were used."

Question: Can you tell from the casings if a shell was a blank? If he used a combination, how else could you tell if he didn't use any blanks at all?

I would assume the recovered bits of lead from holes in walls and shit would tell them they were not blanks. Unless there are many bullet holes already in the walls.

That's not the issue. Someone said the shooter used a combination of blanks and live bullets and the police says live bullets were used(but they didn't explicitly say he didn't use blanks). So assuming he did use blanks as well, how would you be able to tell with the bullet holes on the walls due to the live bullets unless the casings are marked to indicate them as such? I don't own a gun so I don't know about these things.

Although a pitifull display of marksmanship, at 20 feet they were more than twice as far away as in this situation. This was easily inside 10 feet, and he was using a small caliber gun with practically zero recoil. I still say he missed on purpose, he wanted to be shot
Dude, bullets don't take right-hand turns after 10 feet. They all go pretty much straight for at least 25 feet, except for the snub-nosed barrels (which are good for about 10 feet only). If two very experienced shooters (one with formal training) can completely miss after firing two dozen rounds at each from a distance of only six yards, Joe Usual with a screw loose can miss from any distance.

Blanks have a longer casing on them as the ends are crimped in a way as to look like a full bullet so it will feed properly.
I'll dig up some pictures of blanks when I get home.

Don't talk about guns since you don't know anything about them.
a "snub nose" or 2" barrel is good for more than 10 feet. I can hit what I'm aiming at, at 50 feet with my 2" Taurus .38spc.
OK, looked it up.
9mm drops 3" at 106 yards or 318 feet.

I have forgotten more about guns than you'll ever know. Check the archives in any discussion about guns where I'm present.

All ballistics data are done assuming a certain barrel length (which correlates with velocity, since the burn-rate of most commercial powders is too slow to achieve typical velocities from a snub nose barrel). How much is the drop at 20 feet?

That guy is an excellent example of why anyone who wants to purchase a gun, especially a handgun, should be required to take classes on how to handle a firearm, how to shoot a firearm, and how to hit what you fucking aim at...There is NO excuse for missing all your targets at such close range.

No, the end doesnt hang. Its censored basically. You really wanted to see him shoot himself in the head?

didn't realize the exchange with the security happened that quickly. i figured he shot wildly, then the video ended. also, i was under the impression he had fallen to the floor before he offed him.

but no, even though i've seen videos of worse things, i probably don't need to see him blow his head off.

Shooting handguns isn't as easy as you may think, especially one handed. It looks like he was drunk or on drugs because how do you shoot the floor???

Two things come to mind when I think of this movie.

1. Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber saying "Harry! You're alive....and you're a terrible shot!"

2. Jules from Pulp Fiction talking about Divine Intervention lol.

It's actually a lot easier than I thought it would be... Made 46/50 shots at various ranges first time I ever shot an m9. I really don't see how you could miss from that range.

If he was trying to shoot them one handed from 30 yards or something I could understand the difficulty. However, from 10 or so feet away it's trivial to hit something no way was he looking to shoot them.

After watching this video (I had already seen it on TV), Ginger was trying to knock the gun out of his hand with her purse/bag. She isn't going for his back, or head, she actually strikes his gun hand.

For those of you still talking about blanks read my post on the 1st page, bullet holes were found behind the school chiefs desk. The guy was just a piss poor shot.
