Absurd speculation is absurd. She interrupted him for between 2 and 3 seconds, I doubt that was the life saving time you're claiming considering security didn't show up until some time later. Fortunately for her, this guy had some blanks in the gun, and/or he was so disturbed/confused/dumb that he didn't just off her right there. If this guy had been a bit more "serious" she would have spent 2-3 seconds swinging her purse once, been swatted to the ground with minimal effort, and shot dead where she lied. He would then have continued on his way. See how speculation works? The safer thing for everyone, would have been if she never re-entered the room.

I take it you do not appreciate the label, morally bankrupt.

...also "where she lied." LMFAO Where she lay, you twat. If you are going to make a habit of communicating in written form, you should have the decency to be able to do it properly, if not well.

...also also, the gunman started firing about 2-3 seconds before he started getting shot by security. Had he had those few seconds, he could have easily corrected his aim, and still had the lead in his clip to take out several people. Speculation my ass!

Oh, my bad, wasn't giving my entire attention to the thread and made a fairly common grammatical mistake. I do see how easily your feathers are ruffled, though. Well, if a grammatical error makes you "LMFAO" and you feel the need to call me a twat, and condescend to argue your point, I can just imagine the poor, poor state of your self esteem. You poor little angry fellow. Tough talkers on the Internet are SCARY.

Had you considered that he may have heard security coming and then decided to shoot? That his shooting was predicated upon the arrival of security and not that security just happened to arrive 2-3 seconds prior to his spontaneous decision to shoot? In that case, the delay your purse heroine caused was completely inconsequential. The fact is, either way is speculation at best, so you can stop with your bold statements.

The far more important point I am making is that people calling her actions stupid, are pathetic gutless, people.

The counter point most people are making, is that you would be incorrect. Her imprudent action had a much greater change of resulting in additional loss of life, than it did of bringing the stand off to a close. That's the problem with your argument. You can be brave without being stupid. What she did was absolutely brave, but it was poorly thought out, poorly planned, poorly executed, and stupid.

I haven't met anyone who talks about this that doesn't think she was a complete idiot for doing what she did.
There's a fine line between stupidity and bravery, and she was over on the stupidity side and got lucky.
Doing something that doesn't help and only enrages an angry person is not heroism.
Even if she knocked the gun out of his hand, it's not like he wasn't big enough to just pick it back up and start shooting at point blank range.
There was a 0% chance she could overpower him, that was her stupid mistake.

Wow. That is all. The board members are really lucky: it's obvious that adrenaline took over after the first shot and he couldn't control his fingers. Hence the shot at the ground and the terrible aim.
