You don't see a problem with a person wearing a disguise (wig and sunglasses) bull rushing a person running for the Senate with some kind of object in her hand? Really??
Like the fellow who went to the Senator's office dressed as telephone repairmen? (Disguise)
Or are you referencing dude at political rally wearing sidearm?
The police were informed about her and they decided she wasn't a threat. The guys talked to the police so they knew that she wasn't considered a threat. They acted on their own knowing that she was a gadfly. Irritating, but no reason to lay hands on her.
It was a public political rally and she was publicly exercising her right to free speech and association.
