I know it's not impressive now, but back then it was light years ahead of anything else.

That was pretty sweet...

Did the guy say it was running at about 2-5 FPS? everything in that showing was done in real time right?

Well, I had a 21" Sony back then, so I NEEDED to run it at 1024x768. 800x600 looked just awful

I had Diamond Monster2s. Is that what brand you got?

You know, I still have those v2s sitting in anti-static bags in a box somewhere.

I used to have the Creative Labs brand V2 boards SLI'd together Cool technology at the time

My very first Voodoo 1 board was a Diamond spent 300 bucks on that bad boy back in the day!

Agreed! I did enjoy playing Unreal II, but it could have been a lot better.

Yeah, it's nuts when you think about what we spend of this stuff, isn't it???

I wonder how much my V2s are worth now?

yup, diamond monsters, back when diamond was good and supported their products. also had my v1 from em too i think, mem hazy that was also expensive. i only had 17", so 800x600 was fine with me. when i did jump to 1024x768, it was with diamond tnt/tnt ultra cards.

I had two 8mb Diamond Monster 3d II's in SLI. It was awesome. I dunno why anyone went the 12mb route cause' SLI only used 8mb in each card.

My brother had a voodoo banshee.. and for the price, the performance of that card was very impressive.

The gameplay in Unreal was great.. I loved going 30 minutes just exploring and all of a sudden have a huge monster on my back. It used to scare the living crap out of me. I haven't been scared like that since Blood. (Blood 2 didn't do it for me.)

OMG.. just watched the video.. CRY!! I love the textured walls! The shadows are pretty amazing too. One or two more generations of this kind of advancement along with advancement in resolution, and we'll have absolutely realistic gameplay.

Sweet mother of god, those're some nice graphics. I want!

And yeah, of course the HL2 movie did more for you; it was an actual GAME, this is just a technology demo with a few preliminary models thrown in.

And someone needs to tell that guy that 'uncoincidentally' isn't a word.
