View Sonic VP230MB Too Hot?

I just purchased a View Sonic VP230MB 24" LCD screen. It has been on for the better part of the day and I've noticed that if I put my face near the screen (within say a foot) I can actually feel some heat coming off the screen. Also the top part of the case feels very warm to the touch. The only other LCD screen I have is a 17" that's about 2-years old and it runs cool; in touching the case you can't tell the difference between it and room temperature. Is there something wrong with the View Sonic or should I just expect the larger screen to run warm? The dealer where I purchased it from say he didn't know but was going to contact the manufacture to find out.

TIA

Update -
Dealers says some warmth is normal, but just in case he's going to get me another one. He had to special order this one for me, so it'll be a couple of days before the replacement arrives. Until then I can use the top of it as a food warmer!

I'd really like to hear from someone else who has one of these, what you're experiences are.

I have an 18" Viewsonic at work and it's very hot to the face. LCD monitors may put out less overall heat than CRTs, but the heat they do put out is right at your face. This is never mentioned in reviews of LCD monitors.

That's very odd. I have an 17" LCD that I bought with a Gateway computer about 2-years ago (I don't know the brand... it says "Gateway") and it is not even warm to the touch and there's no heat generated from the surface of the screen.

Well, the replacement will be here Friday and I'll be able to run them side-by-side to see if there is any difference.

Thanks for the input.

I just set up a samsung 210T (21") LCD and I'm not getting any noticeable heat from the monitor. The power brick gets a bit warm though. If the power supply is inside the LCD I wouldn't be too concerned, if it is outside, my guess is that there is some problem. Best of luck for you. I must say. These big LCDs are eye candy.
