Pretty good deal I'd say. Model is VX1935wm

5ms refresh
700:1 contrast
$199.99 no rebates

Pretty good? I picked one up only because I love buying there. In 2 years or if I get dead pixels just return it for full refund then upgrade =)

zGreat deal imho, but simply returning it inside the 2 years without any defects for an upgrade... Isn't that considered fraud? I do know it's situations like this that make product more expensive for all of us in the long run.

This is a nice deal. I like the Viewsonic 19" WS monitors... the actual screensize seems bigger than other brands. I noticed this at the store in side by side comparisons the other day.

Maybe I can twist Santa's arm into getting me one of these this Christmas.

That's pretty ridiculous you'd take advantage of such a great return policy like that.

They are revising their policy soon. He's not the only one who's thought of that.

I think this practice is fairly prevalent. My buddy does this all the time...returns an item a every couple years to upgrade his stuff. Thinks nothing of it.

What do you all mean by upgrading? If he takes it back before 2 years do they give him something bigger or just gets a full refund and buys a bigger monitor? Either way that is kinda cheap of someone to do and am shocked Costco even has that good of a return policy knowning alot of ppl abuse it.

idiots that ruin things for honest folk. there's talk that costco will be changing their return policies in the near future because of stuff like this.

Well, there is no need to hide behind a new handle. Just because he does it all the time doesn't mean it's acceptable. If one in five people do this all of time, then Costco would likely belly up a long time ago.

This wasnt me BTW and I worded it wrong. I didnt mean returning it without something wrong with it : / I meant if in 2 years or whatever if it has dead pixels.

Anyway.

There is a Sceptre 20" for the same price after rebate on costco.com; is the Viewsonic that much better that I should spend the same money for 1" less real estate?

So why buy the Viewsonic? Is there something wrong with the Sceptre?

I hear you, brother...and the way I look at it, if I'm not lying to them and they'll take an item back per their policy, what's wrong?

Is the Sceptre available at the store or just net? I have a Costco some distance from me so I would rather not drive there to find out it is not available. I called, but the person on the phone said it wasn't there and then asked me what it was. Not too confidence inspiring. Newegg has a good deal on this 20.1 inch monitor right now, but I am just dubious about buying a monitor with their pixel policy. What is it, seven dead or more before you can return. I will be the guy with six dead pixels in the middle of the screen. I think I will just wait and see what kind of deals become available B & M just before or after Christmas.

I paid a few bux more for the sceptre 20" from costco over newegg because I don't want to look at 7 dead pixels constantly (newegg requires, I think, 8 dead pixels to return the monitor). Arrived from costco with noooo dead/stuck pixels. nice upgrade from the 17" lcd - not the best but very good for the price.

also, sceptre deal is online only. The rebate is costco online rebate also = better than relying on mailed rebate.
