Yep, if they did this intentionally to harvest addresses for catalog spam, they won big on this one.

BTW, this was not a bait and switch. It was price mistake. A bait and switch would be if they billed credit cards at the higher price and shipped anyway. But they didn't do that, they cancelled orders. It's not like Cost Central profited from this.

Not going to post any rantings on RR but in this day and age where companies can harvest your info for advertising or what not. Both sides are to blame.

Who are they going to advertise to? They pissed off everyone they harvested info from. So that makes no sense...

Can you imagine, if their cost for these tv's is $600/ea (reasonable) and they lost 300 per set.

If they sold 300 of them, they'd be out $90,000 dollars. I don't know about you, but I'd rather lose a few customers than 90k.

Lets face it though, most of those customers were there to buy a TV set with a pricing error. They wouldn't have come back to buy any items at your regular prices anyway most likely.

Normally I wouldn't care. However, the fact that they had it set up with the wrong price and an endless supply seems rather fishy. If it was just one or the other I could understand an error, but both together seems more like it was intentionally done to gather information.

No, that should have been a clue their system was having problems.

I don't know whats going on but mine still has not been canceled. I am thinking about calling and seeing whats up but don't wanna screw up any chance I have of possibly them sending this TV to me. I got the confirmation email around 7am yesterday and haven't received anything since. On there site when I look in my account under purchases it does not show any. What do you guys think I should do?

I actually ordered 5 of these (5 different credit cards and addresses...had some business associates help me out). So far, I have 3 tracking numbers, we'll see about the other 2.

Of course, I got in on this way early (actually before it was posted)

Ebay here we come!

It was an obvious price mistake and they try to ruin the company by leaving negative feedback.

If anyone actually expects this company to honor the price, then go step outside into the real world.

I call BS. Nobody got the deal, it was a price mistake. EVERYONE got cancelled.
