ViewSonic VG191 19" LCD for $800 + shipping and tax

How is this VX900 with gaming like quake3 or RTCW? I am really planning to buy this one -- I dont understand why this would be $200-300 cheaper than the VG series since it has the same specs and all, with the exception of the capability to rotate?

Please provide your experience with gaming on this LCD if possible.

Ok update...just got this email after the first one saying they wont honor the price:

Well, I missed a few calls to my house today and they came back as Out Of Area on my caller ID, so I wonder if they were trying to call me about my order. I went to check my order status today and my order can't be pulled up, I can look at my cancelled order but the one that actually processed can't be looked at on-line. Has anyone else had problems looking at their order on-line? I guess I will wait and see what happens.

interesting. Are you saying that they sent you a separate link to a cancelled order??

Also can you post your confirmation email with the pricing included? I think there might be a way to get around this but I'm not sure yet.

Viewsonic is very much still making VG191s. My distributor has 664 total VG191s due into their five warehouses across the nation on anywhere from 4/27 to 4/30. 286 total VG191Bs due between 4/30 and 5/8.

Basically, the next Viewsonic manufacturing wave of this LCD are about to hit and replenish the depleted stocks.

Compaq is trying to cut their loses as Viewsonic is promoting their newer VX900 and offering a discount on them for any reseller that places an order before 4/30.

Currently, my distributor has 94 VX900s sitting in a warehouse in CA with none due in from Viewsonic.

My VX900 order is listed as backordered and supposed to be shipping from Compaq (or it's distributors) IN warehouse. Though if Compaq is using the same distributor I am, there isn't anything scheduled to be in the IN warehouse anytime soon.

Anyone know if the 19" Dell LCD really is the Samsung 191 model? Because it looks so sexy and the stats are as well...it would be an even better deal with the dell discounts and free shipping...

I don't work for Compaq. I work for myself. I'm a reseller/consultant. I happen to have an account with the distributor I think Compaq is using to fill these orders. At least the warehouses and shipping dates somewhat match up.

After some emails back and forth, Compaq went ahead and switched me from the VG191B to the VX900 and said they'd honor the 20% off. As for how the rest of the orders are going, I have no clue.

VX900 for $800 sounds pretty good. Afterall, I think it's the same display as th VG191. HMmmm..

Edit: Even if you werent a previous custormer, were they willing to let the 20% code go through??

I have an e-mail or rather an order pending that says my VG191 will ship out May 7th, been pushed back 2 times already though from April 16th to April 30th to May 7th now.

Ah, the good news is that I got a UPS tracking number for my VX900. The bad news is it's not in the UPS system yet.

My distributor is showing a decreasing number of units in stock in their CA warehouse. I'll update again when I figure out where it's coming from.

That looks very similar to an e-mail I got sent to me on the 24th and I called in and they said someone would be calling me in regards to this order. Well, I'm still waiting on that phone call and it hasn't come yet. My main concern is that my e-mail (posted below) states that they will not honor the 20% off coupon and I hope they don't try and charge me the full price without contacting me first, because my invoice still says $800 on it and until they talk to me they better not try and charge me more. Mine says it will ship out next week, so we'll see if it does.
