They did ship mine out second day air, like I paid for, but since it didn't go out until yesterday it won't be here until Monday. I guess I can "suffer" through 1 more weekend with my CRT monitor. Anyone else get their shipment? It looks like very few of us got this deal and they did give me the discount too. Out the door for $888 including shipping and tax, not too bad.

Yeah, I was billed on my American Express. It shows up as being charged from "CUSTOM EDGE INC OMAHA NE". About $865 shipped. Glad I didn't pay for second day shipping because I will probably get it Monday or Tuesday. Good to hear a few got in on this deal. Looking forward to ripping open the box.

My AMEX was also charged and it was from some odd place too and not Compaq, so I guess they have the distributor charge the account. Even if I did pay for 2nd day shipping it's still a sweet deal. I just hate that 2nd day orders I place ALWAYS seem to ship out on a Thursday or Friday and that extra money was pointless. Good to see a few of us got in on this deal.

I'm keeping the Viewsonic and sending the Planar back. The two are on par in terms of visual quality and specs but the Viewsonic is more stylish looking and thinner and also less expensive thanks to the $200 discount, so I'm sticking with the VX900. I played a little UT on the VX900 and it did fine.

I got my VX900 yesterday. 1 dead pixel. However except that, it is really very good. Very clear! The response timing is better than my Dell Inspiron 8100. If it did have that 1 dead pixel...., it would be perfect. I guess I have to live with this dead pixel.

Ok, for those of you who have gotten your monitors, do any of you play FPS games? If you do can you say how bad the ghosting is or how good they are for gaming, I'm hooking this baby up to my gaming rig and I hope they work great for this or my wife may get the LCD and I will keep my CRt hooked up for now. Are any of you running DVI and if so how does it look compared to analog? I know lots of questions, but I'm getting really excited about this deal.

Back when my friend bought his sony m51, he had to go through 5 new m51s to find one with no dead pixel.

Im hoping that the quality controls of LCD screen has improved since then.

Also at frys and compusa in Fountain valley, all viewsonics on display had fuzzy text compared to other LCDs on display. I wonder if those were just bad batches.

Dead pixels are not the result of bad quality control. They are a normal part of the manufacturing process. Almost all screens have them. LCD's would probably cost 3 times the price if they weeded out all the screens with dead pixels.

The VX900 does not have fuzzy text. It is very sharp and clear. So no worries about that. When I first turned mine on it had no dead pixels but after several hours it developed one. Only one though, so that's good. However it is almost impossible to notice the dead pixel unless the entire background is a very dark color (and even then you have to move your head pretty close to the screen to notice it). Even with a dark background if I am sitting back a couple feet from the screen it's a very tiny little spec on the screen. Not annoying at all. I can definately live with it.

I ended up opting for the switch to the VX900 and boy am I impressed. Not only is the graphical display beautiful, the screen is very sleek looking too. I was using a Viewsonic VG150 and was pretty happy with that, but this monitor is simply amazing to look at and use.

I've viewed a couple of DVDs on it, played a lot of Dungeon Siege, and even watched a little TV. Everything was crisp and as good as any CRT that I've ever used. This is probably my most expensive computer accessory purchase I've made (even with the 20% compaq discount) but it's well worth the money - even at full price.

It's good to hear that almost everyone is happy with their ViewSonic, I REALLY can't wait to play with mine on Monday.

After coming home from out of town yesterday evening, I finally opened up my VX900. The screen is just plain beautiful. No ghosting that I could really detect from the starwars episode 2 trailer I was playing on it and the web browsing I was doing.

Haven't had a chance to run a DVD on it yet.

So what color temperature settings are people using? I've got it set at 5000, but it seems to be lacking yellow a little. I don't seem to be very good at tuning the user color temperature settings.

Dig the touch sensitive adjustment buttons.

Well, I basically took off work today waiting for the UPS guy to show up today, he usually comes before 11, but not until almost 1 today. Anyway, the VG191 is SWEET, SUPER SWEET! I have no, that's ZERO dead pixels and the thing was really easy to set up. I haven't had time to play any games on it yet because I'm still playing around with the XP drivers for it and fine tuning the settings. I've been running mine at 6500K the 9300K looks too blue to me. Anyone else get their monitors today?

Ok Gamers, please provide your gaming experience with first person shooters such as Wolfenstein or Half Life on your VX900 or VG191. Some of us gamers who are debating whether to get this LCD is awaiting feedbacks from yourselves so we can make the final decision.

Your feedbacks will be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm running mine at 6500, looks fine to me. Don't celebrate too much yet on the no dead pixel thing. They often develop after you have used the monitor a little bit. Mine had no dead pixels when I got it and developed one after I used it for a while. It's no big deal though. Really tiny I can't even really see it.

Just got mine. Looks great. No dead pixels!

Works well on CS but make no mistake. This is no CRT. It's very playable but you'll still be able to tell it's a LCD when you make fast movements.
