Viewsonic VX922 vs. LG L1932TX

I'm saving for a new monitor right now, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the Viewsonic VX922 or the LG L1932TX. The faster 2ms response time on the Viewsonic doesn't really matter to me, and aside from that I don't think there's much difference in the specs. I've read a few reviews on the Viewsonic, it seems like a good monitor, but I can't find anything on the LG. Can anyone help me out?

edit: I just realized the contrast ratio is 650:1 on the Viewsonic, but 1400:1 on the LG. Can someone explain exactly what this means, and what number is better?

i'd go with Viewsonic. they proved to be making better monitors. contrast ratio of 1400:1 is probably BS (the way it's calculated). I know a person with VX922, he is really happy with it.

ya that's what I thought the specs look good, and I know of a store near me that has a good deal on them right now.

I've seen both of them running, and I say the LG. I sold several of each at my store, and I can safely say that the LG has better/brighter/more vibrant colors. I havn't tested the response rate on either of them, but I couldn't notice ghosting on either of them.

I work at Logic computer. It's up at woodbine and denison. However, tomorrow's my last day lol. I'm heading off for a few weeks vacation and then I'm off to university. Try to go after 5pm. There's a good sales guy there. His name is Silvio. He also works weekends.

I've been working with a lot of Viewsonic's(V171b & V720b) at work and compared to my LG (1750S) at home, they are better at non-native resolutions. Text is not fuzzy like my LG at 1024x768. Image quality wise, I still like my LG more as the colours do seem more vibrant and everything is crisper. That or because I've used over 500 monitors (auditing), they are starting to annoy me.

I am posting while looking at my VX922. I've had it about 6 weeks and I'm very, very happy with it. Colors are bright and realistic looking. Text is sharp and fonts distinct.

Running it DVI at it's native 1280x1024 resolution. There is no motion blur in games or movies. It takes up like 1/10th the space my 19" Sony CRT did, has a bigger screen and produces less heat too boot!

Do I have some bitches about it? Yeah.

#1 I bought it 6 weeks ago for $325 from Newegg. Now it is $250 at Newegg. :| That's the way it goes, though.
#2 I really wish it did 1600x1200 natively. It looks AWESOME, but with a screen this big, it really begs for a higher resolution.

20" LCDs (most) do 16x12 natively, but a 20" of the same quality as a ViewSonic VX922 is about double the price.

I've no experience with that LG monitor, but I can tell you that I'm very happy with the VX922. Oh, and it comes with nice DVI and VGA cables too.
