They weren't millionaires who stopped by for a photo op, they were real live heroes you could watch play on the week end and didn't seem to mind spending time with us 'youts.'
Professional athletes are not heroes.

This. Taxpayer funded stadiums are one of the most bullshit forms of corporate welfare imaginable. The NFL mints money, they can pay for their own damned stadiums.
They taxed us when they built Miller Park for the Brewers here. So now we can pay a rather high fee to go watch MLB (as exiciting as baseball is to watch ), and pay $6+ for a 12oz cup of Miller piss-water, when the brewery is a half-mile away at most.
They even dropped a crane on the new stadium, killing three people when they were building it and then wanted us to pay for that too.

What can the commish do? Can he stop the vikings from leaving?
Because the NFL can say well, we are packing up and going to a new town, where they are more than happy to pay for part or even all of it.
Or smart... depending on which side of it you are.$500 million paid by taxpayers. so that taxpayers can pay $100 a seat to watch millionaires line the pockets of billionaires.
dumb.

Good, why should the middle class of MN buy a billionaire a new stadium so he can make more money?
A few months ago the legislature debated giving them a loan for the full amount at a low rate and they rejected it.
Finance it like nearly everybody else.
