quick note gregg. DDR doubled in price. 7/8 was low $30's. Today is $66 if you're lucky and rising. if you're gonna build soon go with the RIMM's. if you're thinking later on down the road, keep an open mind and the prices MIGHT....stabilize and/or drop. supposedly, the rumor mill says micron shut down ddr production due to die problems and the other guys arent gonna flood the market.

That's what I would go with. Very nice setup there... the features on the GA-81HXP are amazing (like Dual BIOS)

Crap, so the DDR -> RDRAM jump was even greater a week ago?

Currently 512 MB of good RDRAM will cost me $320, while 512 MB of good DDR is ~$200.

I could always go the cheap route & start with a processor that runs on a 400 MHz FSB, but what's the fun in that?

I wish I knew someone who had owned both a dual AMD system AND an OC'd P4 so I could see roughly where the equilibrium point is. I want this to be an upgrade, not a step backwards.
