Hi all,
I have a P2-400 Dell Dimension desktop that is a little over two years old running Win98. I recently bought a Diamond Viper V770 32 Meg TNT2 (non-Ultra). I am having driver trouble. I first installed the original driver that came with the card(which worked fine), but then I wanted to install NVIDIA's Detonator 2 driver. First I uninstalled the previous driver: I made sure all of it was gone by installing a PCI Generic VGA adaptor, removing Diamond's InConroll tool, and removing any nvidia files from C:\windows\system. I then installed the Detonator 2 drivers. Here is where my problem comes in. I get a square video display that is "left justified" and only fills 3/4 of the screen, leaving a good chunk of black on the right side of my screen. I can re-center my disply using the hardware output section of the advanced disply properties, and then re-zoom and re-center the picture using the buttons on my monitor. However, this does not seem "natural",it looks weird when I stretch the picture so much. The only other driver that works "naturally" besides the one that came with the card is Dell's newest driver(which is still pre-detonator 2). Even the newest diamond driver doesn't work right. So should I be worried about the new drivers because it seems so hard to get them to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
