I posted this in Hot Deals, but figured I should cross post it here since a lot of you folks probably don't frequent there. I have Sprint LTE in my area, so I have been waiting for a sale on this phone since it came out.

Oh, now THIS is interesting...

The Galaxy Victory is a dual-mode CDMA/GSM phone? It looks like it supports T-Mo's bands out of the box (1700/2100).

Other than the low end display, I'm amused. I wonder if the VM version is "more locked down" than the Sprint version as far as the GSM side goes.

• 1280x720 amoled vs 800x480 some sort of unlisted tft
• 1.5 ghz vs 1.2 ghz, same krait chip but at different clock speeds
• 2gb ram vs 1gb ram
• 16gb internal memory vs 4gb, both have microsd that supports up to 64gb
• Both Jellybean
• Both LTE, but S3 will roam on verizon and does not throttle after 2.5gbs. So your coverage may suck with the victory, or it will be the exact same depending on where you are?
• Gorilla Glass vs No Scratch Resistant Glass
• Great Camera vs Probably Crappy Camera
  
  $80 dollar plan for unlimited data and 450 minutes, plus device subsidy

So I got my dad's one in the mail, played with it a little while while setting it up for him.

Easily better than my old htc evo 3d dual core phone, feels like a smaller version of the galaxy s3 (you know a mini galaxy s3)

I am extremely impressed with the phone for the price I paid with no subsidy.

How much space does it have available for apps?

Personally I'd pass on this, sure the price is cheap but I'm not seeing the value here at all. Sgs1 size screen, probably a tft, not a super Amoled or even Amoled, probably a crap camera, Small storage, ugly looking phone running on VM (no roaming). Sure the CPU is good but that's the best thing going for it

I got my Galaxy Victory on Tuesday, and have been using it since. It is the best phone I've ever owned (may not be saying much considering that I do not buy flagship phones). My only complaint is that the camera is a little slow when focusing, but the image it produces is fine.

I did a side by side comparison with my co-workers GS2 (T-Mobile). The only thing the GS2 has on this phone is the screen is a bit more vibrant and the visual aesthetics of the phone. The Victory is considerably thicker.

I am sure the GS2 is a nice phone on Virgin Mobile, but I care mostly about speed, LTE, and battery life. The Victory has been good on those three points. I am getting 18 mbps down on Sprint LTE.

Glad to hear you're liking it. I completely forgot about lte. It's definitely much better than the gs2's wimax.

It's lte. It has a sim. It's just buried and non-user removable. Apparently that's to help avoid a cdma-lte compatability issue that took verizon's network down.

Right now, I have 1.27 GB left available for apps. Not a whole lot, but I don't really care too much about apps. I just have a couple: Netflix, Pulse, RSA SecurID, Zillow, Skype, Facebook, and a couple of games I rotate in and out.

Everything else I keep on SD (music, movies, PDFs, etc.).

this is truth. i pulled down a gig and a half in one afternoon watching the masters. plenty fast for normal usage. at least with sprint (i assume i have priority over virgin and boost people).
