He probably knew their schedule in advance. Those vans with all the gear on them get signed out and sent to different locations depending on individual crew needs and schedules, he probably checked a dry erase board, or maybe just asked someone.

I wonder if he waited until he knew they were rolling. I watched the clip that aired, but I think I'm going to skip the clip the shooter took. That lady is the same age as my little sister, even kind of looks like her.
