Prayers go out to all the families...I knew one of the victims from High School - but so far everyone else I know has checked in OK. What a mess...sh1tty way to spend my bday.

I just learned a peruvian was among the victims. I was born and lived in Peru a good part of my life. This just adds to my sadness due to this tragedy.

Yeah I saw that. He was from Lima. I believe his family didn't have a visa to come over to claim his body, but the State Department said they would be taking care of that very quickly.

Actually from what I read, his father is coming to the US tomorrow. His mother lives here in VA. It is truly sad.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. I was very shaken up by what I witnessed and saw, and I am coming to realize that what I went through was laughable compared to what some endured.

Toan Tran graduated about three years ago but, I remember him saying something about going to grad school. I think I have his AIM name, I'll PM you Mill if I can get ahold of him.

Yeah, I am pretty certain he is ok, but just want to check. I thought he was an engineering major, but from what I just found in some old threads he was in finance.

i found a collection of photos related to this event at VT on flickr. The photos are incredible. Some photos of victims are in this collection as well. I would expect many more photos to turn up in the days to come.
