Virtualization question

My OS is 32bit XP, I'm trying out different OSes using Microsoft's VirtualPC.

I'm going to try OpenSuse 11.1 and wanted to know if 64bit OS be run in the 32bit version of VirtualPC.

I'm thinking most probably not, but I'll ask anyway. If not, I'll just burn a physical copy and try it.

VMware can run a 64-bit guest on a 32-bit host as long as the CPU has VT extensions. I don't think VPC can do that though.

VPC can't run a 64 bit guest, period.

VMware workstation cant run a 64 bit guest unless the host OS is also 64 bit. ESX server can run 64 bit OSs even thoguh it is still 32bit. Cant wait for ESX 4

I believe the latest version of Virtualbox adds support for 64bit guests under a 32bit OS.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, as long as the CPU supports VT it should work even if the host is 32-bit.

That is incorrect as of Workstation 6.5
