Is there any way to have Nortons 8 scan a newly downloaded program using the native windows download utility? Automatically? Download accelerater does this quite well, but not all download sites support it.
Have it scan files upon creation. Any file created by downloading, copying, etc. will be scanned. This will CYA with data transferredby other means as well. Then you can disable the Download Accelerator scans.
I would also suggest scanning for virsuses when a file is run as well. This prevents users from opening infected attachments in email, as well as viruses that run automatically in Outlook or web browsers.
