who the hell bought at 199000? was this a bug?

I actually saw this twice on my E-Trade real time streamer. I think maybe somebody placed a market order and just got unlucky?

I can't believe I bought the day's low. Hope it stays that way.

A bit of gamble but I am hoping the pessimistic market will drag this stock down a bit before I jump in.

I am hoping that doesn't happen. And if it does, it'll rebound from those large moving blocks seeking another round of quick profit.

I'm not in a particular hurry to get in right now, I suspect this thing is going to head down a little bit toward $50, at which point I'll buy and hold it for the long term. The initial hype (and everyone comparing it to MC) is going to drive the price up first, I don't want to be a part of that surge pricing.

Why not be a part of the surge pricing, sell off, and then re-buy once it has settled?

That's assuming I could get in at a sub-$57 level to begin with. Last I checked it was trading at around $59 or so, not enough to have made a significant amount......

but i dont think market order works that way? 199000? are you kidding me? i thought market order is getting the lowest of the available ask price. there must've been millions of asking prices under that.

if so somebody is gonna sue someone!

Same here, I just setup my TDAmeritrade account a couple months ago to buy Nintendo, made the initial deposit without any problems. I just tried to add funds yesterday, and they have to verify the bank account by making a couple test deposits, which could take up to a week. It's frustrating that it's easier to open a new account and fund it to buy stocks immediately than it is to add money to an existing account (using the same bank account!).

Maybe they meant to buy 199,000 shares at $56.00.

Edit: Something similar has happened before. Instead of buying a few million shares at $6.00, he bought 6 shares for a few million dollars each.

I transferred my funds on the 15th and they still haven't arrived in Etrade. I also sold some stocks yesterday to make room for VISA but the funds for those won't be available for 4 days.

On the other hand, I could wait for Facebook...

Wish I had bought another 500.

I think you will get your chance, down to around $58 at the moment.

have you funded your account any time after you have made the initial deposit?
once you set it up, it should never ask for confirmation again, no hassle with test deposits, etc.

also, nintendo is a good stock, but i would definitely get out of a heavy position once wii fit is launched and dies down (the current price probably has the supposed "extraordinary" wii and ds sales factored in), and wii becomes more widely available. i reckon a good time would be around christmas this year.

nintendo was a good play for me personally, its like i got all my nintendo wii and ds and games for free hell they probably even paid for my 360

even though i enjoy facebook very much, know that facebook is a fad. it's not google. based on its current model IMO it cannot sustain long term growth on purely visitors looking at their ads while browsing at what applications friends added or stalking their ex's. if it went IPO i would short the hell out of it.

Do you guys entertain the possibility that this might be a bear trap? The insiders (ie troubled banks) get it at $44 while the public gets it at $60 ($59.50 open). Banks commence profit taking.

It's always been like this for IPOs though. Underwriting is huge for these banks.

I'm assuming you don't know how an IPO works.
