Visioneer 8100 USB scanner at Staples Here for $99.99, there are various $20 off $75 and $20 off $100 coupons for staples all over the web. There is also a $70 rebate from staples.

Buydig.com has the scanner for $64 Here

So buy the scanner for $99.99 - 20 coupon = $79.99 + tax

Use AMEX Blue to PM buydig.com @ $64 (79.99 - 64 = 15.99)

Send in the MIR for $70 and end up paying tax on $79.99 minus $6 so even with tax it should work out to some money back for most of us.

In my case (MA 5% tax) it was $99.99 - $20 coupon = $79.99 + 5% tax = $83.99 - $15.99 PM = $68 - $70 MIR = -$2

Staples rebates are usually pretty good. In my experience it usually arives within 4 to 5 weeks.

So, I assume amex blue accepts PMs from e-tailers too? I thought it was just print ads. How does that work... do you print out the URL/page and send it to them?

Actually, I don't think Amex accepts PM for retailer that has a price matching policy (ie staples)

You can always call the Amex to verify a retailer beforehand...

Answered my own question: Visioneer has WinXP drivers on to download.

As far as coupons, try:

Amex will match online sites. Just call during regular business hours, they will have a price verification "specialist" speak with you, you just tel them how to find that web site and that's it.

In this case, tell them to go to buydig.com, click on scanners 1/2 way down on the page, then scroll to bottom of page and the price for the visioneer 8100 is listed as $64.
Then all you need to do is fax in your staples sales receipt/shipping slip.

The drivers for XP are on visioneer's web site. this particular model is approved for XP and has the microsoft logo certification.

DANGER DANGER WILL ROBINSON........Not meaning to alarm anyone but just to head off any misconceptions...........Amex WILL NOT pricematch an item if the store that was the original point of sale has an advertised price match policy of their own. Their philosophy is that if the original store has such a policy, then it is that policy that you must act on..........That's what they say anyway. Hope this helps someone before they get too deep in this deal.

I have a Umax scanner but this one is EXACTLY the one I had picked out to replace the Umax should something go wrong. And at $9.99, it's a steal.

Did Amex change their policy on PM?

I recently bought a canon s110 camera from CC for $499 and PM to a online site for $353 through amex. they had no problem with that.

Bought a HP printer from staples for $149, PM to a online site for $123, again amex had no problem with that.
in both cases I got my checks within 2 weeks.

Did they change their policy within the last 30days?

You may not be able to PM this item because:
1. Staples itself has 110% PM policy;
2. The price on Buydig.com shows "sales" on it; AMEX probably won't PM;
(But you can always find another store)

If there is someone PM with Staples sucessfully recentely, please advise.
