From Hard OCP:
More VisionTek Woes:
In July we told you about VisionTek giving their employees pink slips on the 4th of July weekend, it seems that VisionTek is in even more trouble right now. Friday employees were given their final checks with severance packages not being honored and rumors that Mail-In-Rebates will not be honored as well. As you can imagine this is even more disappointing to hear, if it all proves to be true. As always, we?ll keep you up to date. Thanks to Lobo the Toilet Duck for the tip.

Here we go..
Now that the company is dead, all we're going to hear is how 'bad' or 'defective' their cards were. Mine's great, and everybody I know who has one has 0 problems with them. Almost all of the GeForceX line of cards are identical anyway except for maybe the addition of TV-out/DVI; the only manufacturers I know of that don't use the reference design or close to it are Asus and Canopus (whom I haven't heard from in a while). There might be others, but the point is that most of these cards are nearly identical.
With the LARGEST nVidia retail supplier gone, the current GF3/4MX/4 cards are also going to vanish from the market during the critical Christmas season.
Does anybody here really think that Nvidia is going to sit by and watch ATI take a large portion of the market share. Nvidia has lots money and lots influence, and I am sure that at least one vendor out there is going to really benefit from Visiontek going out of business.
