i cant say enough bad things about best buy.
it was once my favorite store but i have to agree that they never have any of the sale stuff in stock.
it didnt seem to be this way a few years ago or maybe i wasnt paying attention.
i used to buy all of my last minute, way overpriced items there just b/c i liked the store but no more.
i have been one of the first few customers on many of these deals that people mention only to find nothing on the shelves.
i dont have it in me to go yell at the guy making 6 bucks a hour b/c of this situation or wait an hour and deal with the quote manager.
i have just decided to cancel my bbuy credit card, bad mouth best buy at all oportunities, and take my business somewhere else.
with this forum, i seem to have lots of choices.
i did write them a polite letter not too long ago, but i got back a form letter and this tells me that they dont care about me or my business. (that's when i cancelled the credit card)

FYI, I am still waiting on the $50 rebate from the Thanksgiving BB sale... It's been over three months since I've submitted it.

Go for a different card, or just buy the Visiontek online, it can be had for $140 plus shipping (prolly $155 shipped)

My t-day rebate shows a 3-18-2002 ship date. Maybe I'll get it soon. I'd go for the gainward powerpack golden sample at newegg and flash it to a ti500. I flashed the visiontek to a gainward gf3. I'm sure the gainward ti200 would go to ti500.

I don't think there is a PCI version of the GF3 in any flavor.
The higgest PCI card I know of is the GF2 MX400. Some one said there might be a GF4 MX in PCI format but have not seen it yet.

But go to Newegg or Pricewatch and get your card at the same price or cheaper without a rebate. DON'T SHOP AT BESTBUY. Go to Circuit City or buy your stuff online.

I've been waiting on my GF3Ti200 rebate since I mailed it on 11-28-01. Originally they told me it would be mailed on 3-4. Now they say it won't be went till 4-1. Over five months for a freakin rebate! The rebate is not Best Buy's fault. I have two other rebates waiting on wheresmyrebate.com from two different stores. The estimated mail date for all three were pushed back another month from where they were when I checked before. DON'T deal with the New Rochelle rebate center if you can help it!

PS. The guy that thinks his check is going to be mailed when wheresmyrebate 'estimates' might want to check again. The web site still shows my rebates' mail date a month earlier than the CSR reports.

Unless another new technology superstore comes into the market, BB is here to stay. No amount of whining, complaining, or even lawsuits is gonna change that. (hmmm... Microsoft sound familiar?)

So I suggest you whiners get realistic. Just cause you decide to stop shopping there or cancel their credit card... it ain't gonna change anything! You only end up hurting yourself with all that stress.

Can't imagine why you're such a BB fanboi, but whatever, you're entitled to your retarded opinion.
BB may or may not be around 5 years from now, but the bottom line is that they suck in oh so many ways, and that they are the retailer of last resort as far as I'm concerned. Thankfully tons of other places have price match policies that ensure that I almost never have to give BB any of my hard-earned money.
I will buy from them only for the hottest of deals that cannot be replicated at another store.
Many others feel the same way. Hopefully they'll all be as diligent as I am about not patronizing that awful store.

i think it will hurt them and i dont really have any stress from cancelling their credit card
i can get whatever card i want
i spend a good deal of money per year on electronic stuff
in the last 2 months alone i bought a new video card, a new rug cleaner, and an entire new home theater set
normally i would have gotten all of these items at best buy b/c again at one time i really did like them
but i honestly feel they are not taking care of their customers
some folks here may just be whining as u put it but i dont think all of them are 14 year old kids with no income
i wont be surprise if several yrs down the road (they are still doing quite well at the moment) that they become no different than the other struggling dept and elec stores

BB needs to worry, they just replaced their CEO and their numbers have been falling. Abd if they keep doing to people what they are doing , then they will be another K-Mart or Sears. Hence the NEW Ceo

Also if you need a great board to go with your new card, go to Newegg and look up the Shuttle AK35GTR. They just lowered the price to $97. I paid $115 and is well worth the $115 I paid. It has 5.1 C-Media sound card, High Point raid(NOT Promise) and 4 DDR Dimm slots. Great KT266a board for less than $100
Can also get the GF3 Gainworld for less than $140 without rebate, Who needs WorstBuy, I don't

Say Menting, welcome to "Wheresmyrebate.com" / New Rochelle ,New York rebate center. I got the same run around with my memory rebate there. I can tell you you are in for a lot of work and phone calls before it is done. O' and a long wait too. That's been my past experience with this company. The biggest reason I did not even try to get in on the day after sale for that card was because of who was handling the rebate. If any company has New Rochelle handling their rebate, I will not buy their product! If there is a hell for consumer rebates here on earth, that place has to be New Rochelle. They will do their best to screw you over and any company that hires them, in turn, are try to screw you over too.

Empire_DNH; If the Radoen rebate is not through New Rochelle rebate house, I would keep it.

A warning: If you see a rebate needs to sent to New Rochelle, NY; do not buy that product!
