Saw someone mention this in another forum: "My VisionTek GF3 came in today and to be honest, I forgot the ship date. So Im toying with it now. Trying to confirm it has 3.8 DDR as I type. VisionTek stated only the 1st batch out the door would have the 3.8ns. Next cycle should have 4.0 DDR from there on in"

Can anyone confirm this? Geforce3 deal for 319.99 finally suckered me in so Im curious about the card (still out of stock and can cancel if I want). Arent the Visiontek and Elsa cards identical also? Have always heard that.

Only way to tell is to pop off the memory heatsink, but they are epoxied on OR overclock the sucker and see how high you can get(if it goes above 500mhz than you should have 3.8ns). The first batch that went out, which will last about a week and a half should be all 3.8ns, after that you may start getting 4ns.

Just ordered one last night (Gateway deal for 319.99 shipped). Apparently got them in today but wont be shipped out until Monday. Think these are still part of the first batch?

Maybe not a big deal but Id prefer to have the slightly faster memory when spending that much on a video card.

It's good to hear they have more in because mine was on backorder. Can't wait, new toys are always fun to play with.

i would think the yields of 3.8ns would go up over time, so that we'd see MORE 3.8ns's on down the line.
it just don't make no sense, y'know?
