Is anyone else having a problem with the temp and fan control of their X1950pro? This visiontek card doesnt seem to have the temp sensor and fan control. This revision of x1950pro sucks, my old x1950pro had temp and fan control. Anyway, for around $70 I'll keep it.

This replaced a Radeon X600. It's loud and I think I'm going to see if my old zalman gpu cooler will fit on this.

I stopped by CC to price match to the in-store price and got the 108.77+tax price.

Danzilla, the 07-76268 is the correct rebate form. You'll either have to (1) wait until rebateshq fixes the dates or (more likely) (2) call CC and/or rebateshq to get your rebate fixed.

@Don... I am pretty sure that the rebate form you posted came from the CC site not rebate HQ... I never did find anything at rebatehq saying the rebate was valid.

Cross posted (by me at SD):
Might not be useful now, but I think people might find it helpful as rebates begin getting denied and come back to check this thread.

what the shell! i called CC 2x and they kept saying this is a manufacture rebate, please give the manufacture a call.

After you have a rebate tracking number (best obtained quickly by using fax 888-864-5763, otherwise obtained (slowly) by mailing as on the receipt)

When you go to the rebatehq website and put in the tracking number you will discover that your rebate will be invalidated because of:
Dates not eligible
Invalid UPC

Just call Parago Escalation ("the manufacturer") directly:
877-681-2362

When you speak to the representative he wil robotically repeat the same thing:
"Our system shows this rebate ended for this offer"

Do not accept this.

Politely and firmly tell him you have copies of the documentation of the receipt. Read the receipt to him. Offer to email him the receipt as a jpg to an email. Do not accept a fax number, the escalation department never sees those, they go somewhere else entirely.

As for the UPC? Tell him there is only one UPC on the box. Offer to send him a jpg of all six sides of the box. Tell him there is a serial number on the card and offer to scan it and send it to him.

Don't worry if you don't have a scanner. Doesn't matter. They don't want you to have their email address anyway.

Basically you need to make approving the rebate easier than verifying your claims. They can and will approve your rebate unilaterally just so you will go away. Takes 2-3 minutes. It's not hard, after all: YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT.

(Some people will reasonably say that this does not address the larger issue for everyone else. My Response? "Yup, you are right!...aaaaand thank you for volunteering!"
If you are the sort to champion causes on behalf of the brotherhood of SD, AT, those Fat guys, and all other bargain seekers, I refer you to The Consumerist's excellent guide to effing with corporations:
http://consumerist.com/consume...sed-edition-316524.php
It's a great resource, and I while I have never mailbombed executive email ( *@circuitcity.com) I am incredibly interested in how that goes. Post it here!)

If for some reason the guy will not approve your rebate, ask him to contact cc corp and conference in a representative. If he won't, hang up, contact cc and have them conference him in. (It never came to this for me, not even close, but it's the logical next step.)

I have helped three friends who got in on the deal and each time this procedure worked. (I actually made the call each time because I was the one to tip them to the deal and felt responsible.)

Just for the record if you prefer not to follow this route: take the Rebate HQ invalid upc info to the store where you bought it along with the rebate, ask to speak to the store manager and get them to credit the rebate via price-adjustment. One friend of mine did this instead and it also worked.

Don't stress, it really is easy.

Srry about the invalid formatting info, but I am quite lazy.

I think they increased the in-store price so this deal may be dead.
I faxed my rebate info yesterday and saw that the status this morning was invalid due to (1) date (2) missing original UPC (3) invalid UPC. The only valid reason is #2 so I emailed them about it (VisonTek wasn't on the dropdown list of companies so I just selected one that started with a "V"). I got another email saying that my rebate was now valid but I checked and it still comes up as invalid for the same 3 reasons. I'll check again later, but I may have to call either CC or the number Bosozuku just posted (thanks).

edit: I emailed about my record still being invalid and as a "valued visiontek customer" they approved my rebate. No phone calls necessary

Donslade, I cannot believe no one called the P.H. # you posted in your text file of the rebate. I called it with a question, the same P.H.# was on my receipt. Boy was I in for a surprise. Now anyone reading this is in for the same. Should I have a problem with this rebate?

http://forum.visiontek.com/viewtopic.php?p=8308#8308

This is Visiontek's own forum, under General questions/anyone have problems with Circuit City's rebate recently. I THINK SO!

I have not called that number. I've been too busy to follow this thread, or the status of my rebate. I was planning to check up on it next week but I just try it this week. I hate rebates but this was too good an opportunity to pass up. I'll post my results when I check.

I'm gonna go out on a limb. Say you were to take your rebate form back to the store you bought your item from (I'll leave out, if you have or have not sent everything in). You tell the Customer service person you had a question about this form, and that you tried to call the P.H.# on this form to have it answered. Then have them call that P.H.#. If you read your rebate form & call that # yourself, I think you'll be expecting an instant rebate.

Good luck

Well my rebate just got denied for invalid UPC.

since there is no working phone # to call i am just gonna go to the store and get my $50.00 back from Circuit City. They advertised it as $66.00 after rebate right on the shelf tag when I purchased it so they are responsible to see i get the rebate, either from the rebate house or from then, I dont care.

called this # 1-800-294-4371

hit 1, 1, 0 and you will get a CSR.

she verified my info, and saaid my UPC was invalid but the aproved it anyway, because i am a valued customer or something.

should be updated online in a few hours.

I went to the CC where I purchased the card and talked to the customer service person in the return/pickup area. I had copies of all the paperwork with me. Told her that my rebate had been denied due to an 'invalid UPC' and showed her my copy. Told her that the number to call for issues is actually an adult chat line, she looked surprised. She promptly apologized and offered me a $50 gift card or a credit to my credit card for $50. I chose the credit to my card and she did that plus the tax on the $50!! So a credit to my card for $54 is a bit better than the $50 rebate.

I try to avoid sales at CC because of all the rebates. I have had issues before and a phone call usually took care of the problem. Obivously that was not going to work with this one, but at least CC did the right thing. Very polite about it too.

Tbogstad,
You are correct in calling "# 1-800-294-4371 " as you posted, but I was not as lucky to have that p.h. # printed on my receipt. I had another # I don't wish anyone to have to call. Hence some people should be getting immediate compensation for a large screw up.

Glad to hear you were given the correct P.H.#, & were able to have your rebate authorized.

I still have not received my rebate check, it still shows approved and inprocess.

so i called this # 877-681-2362 (escalation desk? open Monday to Friday from 8 to 5)

Got a hispanic CSR, Heavy acent, little hard to understand, but not too bad.

He was very polite and said my rebate would have been mailed by march 6th, because of the big screw-up, but he changed it to 7 to 10 days it should be mailed, and gave me a tracking # incase there are anymore problems.

was off the phone in like 1 minute.

hopefully i will have my $50.00 in a week or 2

PH# again 877-681-2362 (escalation desk? open Monday to Friday from 8 to 5)

Got my rebate a week ago for $50. I guess that would be about March 6th, so that CSR must have been right. $65 AR for an X1950 Pro is sweet!

Well, all I can say is that I'm still waiting for my $50 rebate for a VisitionTek HD2600XT video card. It's been six months and I keep getting told it will be sent but still haven't gotten it.

Summary of broken promises and on going delay
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. In Feb 2008, I was told I would get my check by mid March.
2. At the beginning of April 2008, I was told my check would be sent out by May
1st.
3. On April 28th, 2008 RebatesHQ folks reconfirmed that my payment would be
shipped by May 1st.
4. On May 1st, 2008 I'm told it still isn't mailed and that it will be by the 15th.
To this day, the online status says
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Tracking Results: Rebate Submission Detail
Rebate: $50.00 Check
Rebate Information For: 262201606
Promotion: $50 Mail In Rebate with Purchase of a Visiontek ATI HD2600XT
512MB PCIE at CompUSA & CompUSA.COM
Submission Type: MAIL-IN
Date Received: 11-21-2007
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid and is scheduled for final processing.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Before buying one of their cards that has a rebate, I would recommend checking the RebatesHQ.com website and entering my number 262201606. If it doesn't say payment sent, you may want to reconsider if the purcahse is worth the price if you don't get your rebate either. Given the number of folks that are reporting difficulties with getting their rebates, it's not an isolated problem.
Final update: I received my rebate!
This makes the total to be:
$115.95 + $9.57 (tax) - $54.00 (instant rebate for naughty phone number on rebate) - $50 MIR = $21.52
So $22 for the card is not bad at all.
Pure luck on this one.
