i agree with clammy3, if no one else (or VERY few people) can take advantage of it, then it's not really a hot deal, and belongs in the brag and moan section. if the hot dog vendor on the street corner a block from my office is giving away free hot dogs to the first 5 people that come up and say "Shazam!", is that really a hot deal that needs to be posted?

If you do want others to get it, you would give details.

In this case no details were given, so all I can ssume is that he:
a) wanted to rub it in our faces that he got it for $49 (go to brag and moan)
b) never got the deal and made it up
c) is lazy

either way, there is no deal, but there is no reason to ban him!

Waht you probably read involves the shaders and different pipelines. While the raw Mhz numbers for GF4 and GF4MX are way up there (even GF4MX over GF3 in some places), they took out some elements in the hardware for the GF4MX. So even though a GF4 Mx may have better Mhz numbers, it will be slower in a good amount of games, especially DX8 ones. I've seen the differences posted on a few websites. I think you can get to them from Hardocp. Those who are eventually looking to get a GF4MX over a GF3 Ti200 may be disappointed. Even though the prices will be similar, the GF4MX is gonna be stripped a bit. Anyways.... let's not lynch this guy, but if he happens to read this, there is no point in posting something but not giving details. Fro the rest of us (myself inclusive), why the hell are there 50+ posts in a thread that doesn't have a chance of spawning a legitimate discussion. Come on.

I got my black friday Xtasy GF3 TI200 rebate yesterday. For this rebate only, if you have waited the 8 weeks or whatever the rebate said, then tell them it has been like 10 weeks, and you don't want to wait any longer, and the guy just said "It'll be in the mail tomorrow", and 2 days later, here it was!! >>

I bought this card from a BB near Detroit yesterday. The card is $199 with a $50 rebate and you can price match it if you have a Blue card to get it to about $100. There were none on clearance and this card would not be $49 even if it was an open box.

The Geforce 4 cards will be announced tomorrow but the early ones that are coming out are no better than a Geforce3. The features they have in these new cards aren't even used yet in today's software.

As for the card itself, it is a great card and well worth the money. Serious Sam rocks at 1600x1200 - 32bit color with all options turned up.

So far you haven't said anything that contradicts what I said. My point is very simple, you would think if someone posts a deal on this forum, they are posting it so others can get it too. I am mearly pointing out that his post would not allow anyone else to get the deal, that is why people got upset. You may also notice I am not upset, I am trying to explain why other people are upset, just like you are explaining why he didn't post details.

I got a Radeon AIW 7500 for $150 brand new, but because there is no possible way anyone else can get the same deal the way I got it, I dont start a thread: "Radeon AIW 7500 $150!!!" . See what I mean. And if there was a way others could get it, I would post the deal, and how to get it.

I called yesterday too to find out WTF my rebate was since it's over 8 weeks.
Today I reached through to someone at wheresmyrebate_itssittingrightherewhereweleftitinthegarbage.com

I told her it's been over 8 weeks, not sure if she was lying but said it was sent out this morning and I should get it in 7-10 business days (apparently they have a donkey carry it out to people)

Sorry, but I just don't buy the whole "you hurt my feelings so I'm not going to tell you!" line. If this were anything other than a one-of-a-kind deal, he would've burst back onto the forums with a big fat "I told you so, you jerks," and posted the name of the store so that someone could verify this is real.

Note that he is already hedging his initial post, now saying that he "found it on a clearance table."

Well...from my personal experience, sometime BB does have some stuff on clearance for cheap, but YMMV....clearance is usually and most likely only local, not nationl.....
