You've probably gotten used to it. When going to SD I would drive all the way around LA because that place just sucks. San Fran is a much better place to go visit than LA.

Here is my first impression with SF. I took a business trip there because our hq was there for whatever stupid reason. My co-worker rushed me off the plane and to the hotel, he was anxious to get some food. In the meantime, I had to go to the bathroom, nothing bad and urgent, but it took priority. We checked into the hotel, I think it was the omni, and use the lobby restroom.
I pick a clean stall, sit down and do my business. Then someone walks in, groans, then walks out. He repeats, and by this time I just want the hell out of there. I curse the amount of poop I have to leave, and just hope he doesn't do anything weirder. Nope, he comes back in, walks to my stall, peeps through the crack and he groans again.
Then he proceeded to pull down his pants for self-loving time. At this point, I was done with SF once and forever. I decided then, never to return.
Needless, to say, I did what any normal person did in this sitauation (god I hope this isn't common), I kicked the stall door on him, and he went flying backwards sans pants.
I wiped, washed my hands of the place, and left.

Right, if you just wanted to go straight to laguna. But the PCH drive is a fun one, plus I think the beaches in newport are better.

i went here http://www.jirafferestaurant.com/ last month i have to say it was the best meal of my life. I had the Gnocchi and pork chop and fiancee had the tomatoes and lamb. YOU MUST order the gnocchi.

Don't like LA at all. 90% of the people I've run into there are assholes.

I gotta agree here, I was there for a week with my wife and we were busy EVERY day. Loads of stuff to do and the people were nice and friendly. Overall, it was a great time! I'd say, most of the people who bad mouth L.A. do so because they have not actually been there themselves.

Sure, there were some rough areas but you'll have that in every major city.

Screw socal. Air? Hah. What air do you breathe down there. It's about as bad as it gets in the Silicon Valley. Pretty much anywhere else in the Bay Area has better air.

Tommy's FTW! You cannot beat Tommy's Chili, the original Tommy's on Beverly & Rampart in LA is so good they actually have 2 of them at the same location. Now ordering some Chili to go from Tommy's and slathering it on an In-N-Out burger might be HEAVEN! I've never tried it but always wanted to...
