[*] CompUSA has it for 99.99

[*] PM OD against CompUSA send in the rebate and you've got it for free! (plus applicable taxes). If you have the chutzpa, use a printable coupon on that purchase to bring it down even more.

Some Notes:
Some people have received rebate receipts that say activation is required to receive the rebate. My gf and I each did the deal and our rebates say nothing about activation and have no room to even put your pager number. So, as far as we can tell, no activation required for this deal. YMMV.

This worked fine in WA.

It's still very early in the morning here in CA so i just tried ordering it by phone and do a store pickup.
So i called OD (1-888-463-3768) and tried to PM with CompUSA but CSR replied "we do not pricematch CompUSA". So i just asked if the rebate required activation and she said "yes".

I'll try b&m tomorrow if they would really PM CompUSA.

*maybe the rebate w/ or w/o activation varies in every OD store since @activelink 2-way service is not available in all areas IMO.

How do you figure? There's no option to add it to your cart, and the fine print clearly says that the rebate form is only available in store.

I read the rebate form and it did require activation and ask the beeper #. So good luck to find a "good" form.

A easy way is buy using a AMEX Blue and call them up for a money back (can fax or even email website.... read from tec$bargains.com)

If you do not have AMEX blue, and you have patient, time and want money earn $$$. Do it this way: buy it using $$ off coupon (i guess $30 off?)
online, use store pick-up. After 5 minutes, call up OD, hope you get a nice CS and point him/her about the price on CompUSA (some CS will say they do not do PM. Hang up if they say that and call again. Last time i have to call up 3 three times). Make sure they price match and use your coupon.
If all failed, print out the CompUSA webpage and go to OD when pickup. Talk to manager, said that the CompUSA shop has the same price (If u do not have a CompUSA nearby, it may not work) and have them PM.

BTW, from discussion on Fa$wallet.com's forum some rebate form in store printout has no word about activation.
so u may be in luck (or risk?) if the printout do not have.
some said last week price is $139 and they have no adjust the store price...
some said there is a $20 plan + $9.95/m plan if you need act. .... go to the link...

a free visor is a very good deal. (but risk with OD rebate, you know they takes forever and act. fee, i will not jump on this deal) I am happy that my "dead" visor is again alive after i follow instruction from handspring's CS.
I have too many rebate pending (current 750) so i have to save money by not spending.

SCORE! I ran to OD at lunch... grabbed the ticket from the shelf and took it to the register. Asked if the rebate reqd activation. Guy said he knew it didn't but printed one off anyway just to make sure. Then I asked about the PM, said no problem. Bought one for 99.99+tax, so I'm good to go (got 2 of these during the CUSA deal for gifts, now got one for myself...).

If anyone can host it, I'll scan the rebate receipt (not sure if a copy will work, but you're welcome to look...)

One interesting note: Under "rules and regs" the ONLY thing listed is void where prohibited. Does that mean we can get unlimited # of these??? I may just have to call and ask...

Doesn't CompUSA have to have the item in stock for them to PM it? At least that's the experience I've had when dealing with OD PM'es.

How did you price match CompUSA? My OD checked and all the local CompUSA and online are OOS. No PM for out of stock.

Which citys did you buy the PDA in?
And on the reciept that was posted it says ( send Original UPC code from your pager box).
Does the pager come it's own box?

I got mine in Cincinnati, store 276 (Ridge Road)

I sent the UPC on the outside box, it states on it "Prod: @ctiveLink R50" and has a OD sticker on it too that says ActiveLink/Handspring and the OD SKU. There is also a UPC on the inner box (the package is a thin printed cardboard box outside a thicker plain box) and the inner UPC says visor deluxe on it.

manko: that cache shows the price as 79.99 after rebate. that would be the same deal that OD has now...so nothing to pricematch. the page that they had up last night showed the price as 99.99, no rebate involved, hence the pricematching ability.

I found one at minneapolis OD, Had them pricematch to compusa, then I used a 15 off 50 coupon. Total out the door with tax was 90.94 and my rebate slip doesnt even have a place for pager number. My girlfriend will love me now! Great Christmas Gift!
