If anyone's contemplating the Mountain View, CA store, think again. The grinch is alive and well, and has apparently morphed into a short asian office depot store manager. =)
Well I give up trying to get this deal as it's written, but this isn't so bad: find that 20% link, then buy at OD. Sell the modem on fleab@y and the net cost for the visor should be around $30 after rebate.
I got the same "Rebate Receipt" as the one posted above. Since I was not given any other forms, postcards whatsoever by Office Depot, I think the "coupon" is the portion of the "Rebate Receipt" you have to fill in. Correct me if I'm wrong.
No go at the office depot at glades and the turnpike. Manager says the product has been discontinued and also there were none in stock at any of the CompUSA's in the area. I thought I might have problems when I saw the PM for a difference of $80. Wish I had more time to run around the other office depots around here and keep trying, but no time.
I got MINE! @ OD in Crystal MN. I had them look at every other store in MN and noone had any in stock.... I would still try it. I have a receipt from Yesterday showing the price of $99.99 and the rebate receipt showing no need to activate. I have 4 on order....... Hope I can still get the deal!
I could probably scan in the receipt and rebate receipt and blank out the important stuff (VISA) and then let you all try it with that..... Might help out..
LEt me know. and I'll do it after work or if there is urgent interest I will have the wife do it from home. -TAL
a little clarification, The rebate used to say with activation, but corporate decided to make the rebate effective without activation. So don't worry about the rebate you will get it, without even having to activate service.
Yeah, kev33yoc, could you please share with us how you know? I'm sure many of us would appreciate it if you can clear any remaining uncertainty...

My gf called the rebate center and inquired about the activation. They said that activation was not required. She got the name of the csr she spoke to. For us, this was good enough confirmation since our rebates don't mention activation either.
IF someone can host it I've got the html for the compusa page. Did any of you see the original thread for this btw, it had stated csr's were saying activation was required.....luckily I got in on this then firguring Id pricematch and take a cheap activation plan.
hmm, is the rebate a store rebate or a manufacturer rebate? if this a manufacturer rebate, is there any chance for ppl who got in the CompUSA deal 4 weeks ago?
Since there's a SkyTel sticker on there, does that mean I have to use SkyTel's service for the Glenayre Wireless Modem? I can't choose any other providers such as Metrocall?
