Vista bsod

i am installing vista on my pc. so i finished the setup and then everytime i start the computer it goes to a blue screen, and then restarts it self. any solutions?

Please give us some tangible information so that we can help you determine what the problems is.
1. Motherboard?
2. CPU?
3. Ram? (make, model, settings, voltage)
4. PS?
5. Drives? make model interface
6. Where exactly in the setup is this happening?
7. Does it do the exact same thing every time?
8. Have you ran memtest?
9. Have you checked your voltages?

I don't want to sound like a jerk but come on, you've got to give us more info so we can help you determin what the problem is.

The BSOD usually gives the reason. I fixed one with a repair install booting to the Vista CD. When Vista gets a BSOD, it usually does a memory dump and reboots. Read the BSOD for the cause.

what's the error msg? could have something to do with ram/drivers. Try reinstalling with just one stick of ram in. If you can get into Vista after the install, then go and run all the updates then shut it down after they're installed and put the other stick in. If you're using 3gb or more get this patch http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777/en-us

I had the same problem. It was being caused by the Zoom modem driver that Vista was DLing from the MS website during install. During the install, say no when it asks if you want MS to help make the install go better. You can selectivly download each update after you get Vista installed. The way I found the problem, was to install Vista without updates or new drivers. Then, I did an Acronis True Image backup before installing the next update/driver. When I DL'd the modem driver update, I got the BSOD and restarts. Fortunately, the ATI backup came to the rescue. I then removed the modem , since I don't use it anyway.
