Installed this late last night as well but didn't really get a chance to play around with it. Boot-up didn't seem any faster, if anything it was slower before I got a responsive desktop due to McAfee Security Suite and my printer drivers releasing my desktop. Hopefully this was only because of a first bootup.
My SP1 set-up was also rock solid stable, but similar to Cardio I had occasional IE crashes. I think this is largely due to residual flash player issues, but I also had a problem with one of my RAID drives dropping out of the array (fixed by using molex instead of SATA connector) that might have been locking up IE. Also had a few instances of games crashing on exit, but this seems pretty common for certain titles.
Mainly installed SP2 because some of the notes about video performance improvements and other hardware related enhancements piqued my interest. Will run a few benches later and see if there's any noticeable gains in performance.
