Indeed, because there isnt. SP2 is almost exclusively a patch roll-up plus some patches that have only been delivered upon request (potentially harmful at the time). The non-fix highlights would be BT 2.1 support, some WLAN related things and support for VIAs Nano processor.

If people feel their system runs faster now, it probably did a good job at unclogging a messy system - added value, cant complain about that!

I've also read comparisons between SP1 and SP2b installation duration - go figure, SP1 replaced vistas (release) code base with the server 2008 code base - that will obviously take longer to install than a patch roll-up.

Well I wouldn't have known that from using Vista x64 SP1 and Server 2008 x64. Server 2008 still feels much faster and responsive than my Vista x64 SP1 ever did (and others agree http://forum.notebookreview.co...owthread.php?t=242891)

How is the hard disk performance under SP2?

IMO that is the biggest reason why Vista's performance lags so much.

I loved Dos 6.22 however Win3.11 I hated ,Win95 huge improvemnt but not until Win98SE came out did we really see how good Windows could be,ME we won't go there,2K was very nice OS and XP was only a very minor improvement on 2K IMHO,Vista was a bigger change and I do like it ,now where is my Windows 8 .

There are some small performance improvements in certain tests, but there are also some performance drops in others - the most significant being our GIMP image editing test, where we witnessed a 5.5 percent performance decrease

A pair of Radeon HD 4870 1GB cards running in CrossFire seem to benefit from some pretty significant improvements in Crysis with the Service Pack 2 beta installed - we witnessed a 9.2 percent increase, which is going to be fairly noticeable in real world gaming scenarios at the frame rates we're seeing here.
