I downloaded the x64 standalone package and it installed without a hitch. Haven't played around with the machine yet but everything looks alright.

Can someone give me the MD5 sum for the Five Language Standalone (KB948465)? I want to make sure I got a good download of the install.

Anybody have any issues with it? I just realized I started the Update for it. I mistakenly though it was just a minor update instead of SP2. Currently downloading 343.9MB...

edit: Just finished installing. Took about about 10 minutes for the install, not including download time. Windows still works and I can still use Firefox, so I'm happy.

I'm going to hold off for a few days, make sure there aren't any major issues that crop up.

No need,I have been using RTM SP2 version on two Vista PCs ,no issues in gaming or general use.

Only thing I have heard is issue with Nod32 ver 4,they are aware of the problem.

NOD32 and SP2 problem thread at OCUK.

This has to be one of the most low-key SPs in quite some time. It's not a performance SP (Vista SP1) or a bugfix SP (XP SP2) or even a big rollup SP (XP SP3), never mind the fact that Win7 has taken a lot of the light off of Vista. I think the last time I was this unexcited for a SP was Win2K SP3.

I kind of have to agree. Reading the change log, not a whole lot is going on besides better driver support, and making sure your system is fully up to date.

Won't install for me on x64. SP1 was fine. I'll try running the sp1 cleaner first- as I did not know about that. I suspect that it is something buried in that massive (*sxs*)folder mine's 16 gb! Both windows update and the standalone installer bombed. Now I'm into the remove security apps (Symantec in my case) stuff

the error on teh standalone download is that the data is invalid each time, and I have downloaded multiple times. Trying again at work today.

Not sure what's up with it. Google is of no help either.

Fixed it.

Turned out that My Half-open TCP/IP Fix was causing an error.
I restored it back to default, restarted, and it worked like a charm.

I can't get it installed. This wasn't a vlited install.

What happens is everything goes normally for steps 1 and 2. When it goes to boot back into Windows after step 2, I get a reboot loop. Booting into safe mode allows step 3 to continue, but rolls back after completion (due to being in safe mode). I'm stuck.

I've re-armed via elevated cmd, and run this tool http://www.microsoft.com/downl...4BFA44D&displaylang=en

Neither have helped. Suggestions?
