Someone PLEASE help.

How can I get "Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete" buttons in my folders??

I really miss them from my XP install.
I hate having to right click to get to delete!

Isn't there an 'Organize' button on your toolbar?

Plus keyboard shortcuts still work: Ctrl+C; Ctrl+V; Ctrl+X; Del; etc.

Even faster than clicking buttons.

AFAIK they are now in the organize button and the toolbar isnt customizeable (sorry...)

Keyboard shortcuts are much faster. Hard to believe people actually use buttons for cut/copy/paste.

All good points - but what's wrong with doing it the old fashioned XP way? (Right clicking!)

That way the hand never leaves the mouse.

Personal preference, people used to doing it one way don't like be forced to do it another...

The quick way to get the old file, edit, view, etc in vista explorer is to hit the alt button.
It toggles viewing it.

Right click works perfectly. Anything else is an unecessary layer.

To *briefly* recap my response in the other thread.
1. The heirarchial view is still available.
2. It is a favorites view displayed, not history.
2. You are still using the UI like XP and have failed to leverage your favorites in explorer.
3. The File menu is the long slow way to do this as it is hidden by default. Use the page menu instead.

Then when you actually use it it toggles back.

To stop it from going away hit Alt, then Tools Options, then click box for keep Menu options


It stinks that this is not there by default as was always in the past but at least can still get it back.

I'm not sure how this answers the OP question. He wanted the cut/copy/delete toobar items not a menu. The organize button is a menu and includes those. The alt key just shows the old traditoinal windows menu (hidden by default since so few users actually use it, the screen real-estate was better used showing more actual content).

I don't know where you get your information but every person I have ever run into that uses a computer both in the past and now uses those fuctions from the menu on a daily basis.

Sometimes "traditions" should not be broken.
