Does anyone here own one of these floor rising projector screens ? How is it? Flat, no lines when fully out? How do you like the company/brand? I do not want to post a link because you all will say I am advertising it. Unless you all say it is ok.

Just wondering if they are worth it? I never seen any review of the version I may want. VSDSTALR120H maybe

I like this new feature the latest updated version has but guessing even if you have a older version it is possible to get sense it says free update obviously. I will make sure by asking.

To be honest I would prefer a manual floor rising screen sense in my opinion less likely to break but I could be wrong. I can not find a tab tension floor rising manual one though.

The issue I would have with something like this is when it fails at some point you now have a hole in your floor that might not match whatever new one you replace it with. Although if it's built to be easy enough to repair maybe this is not that big a deal. I don't imagine anything that could fail would be all that complicated to fix. If the top part is solid you could maybe glue hardwood or tiles or whatever your floor is, right on it. So like, part of the floor itself comes up, and when it goes down, it sits flush.

What I'd personally do though is build/buy a TV stand since you'll want a place to put all your equipment anyway, and then put this on the stand. You could build up a top portion for it so it's seamless. So when it's closed you just have a piece of furniture and when you want to use it, the screen comes out of it. Would be kinda cool actually. "where's your TV?" *hit remote - huge screen comes out and projector turns on*

Yeah exactly. Could even sit a bit higher on top of a same size entertainment cabinet. That's probably the approach I would take anyway.

Might be worth asking a cabinet maker. Probably like a grand if I had to guess, but if you were to buy something equivalent you'd probably pay close to that anyway. Should be a relatively simple build for someone that has a shop and all the tools.

Too bad I can't find a entertainment center or tv stand that is 10 foot long and just put it behind it or on top of it. Maybe.

not sure if there is an ikea near you...if you there is, just get 2 of these guys and one single frame one and put them side by side...

something like this runs about $260:

just go to the ikea site and do the besta planner tool to play around with the different combinations...
