I wonder if one can purchase the remote as a standalone option? I'm still looking for a good option for my WMC HTPC setup, I use an app on my phone but I'd rather have a fully functioning remote.

Nice. This is what the Logitech Revue should have been. No one wants a bulky keyboard and touch-pad in there living room.

The Onlive support is cool too. (with Onlives universal bluetooth controller)

I love Roku but this looks like a real competitor.

You can. It costs $99 and comes with a free OnLive box

I think I'm getting one, not least so I can play my whole music library without having my desktop/server up.

So it's up for sale on the site, though I didn't get an email notification despite signing up for one.

Ships by mid-August. Exciting.

Does anybody know what SOC this baby is packing? I just want to make sure it's ARM-based and at least dual-core A9 for use with emulators

Needs XBMC asap. Not alpha software decoding like current but hardware accelerated version like AppleTV2.

Wow, I think this really is the best Android device yet. The remote/keyboard combo is just excellent.

TV, gaming, internet, video, Google Apps. Sold.

If they sold that remote on it's own Vizio could make some headway in the HTPC market.

Pretty sure it's the reference Marvell Armada 1500, which is a dual-core based on Marvell's version of the A9.

That's what I figured but I'm not sure why the Sony version costs twice as much with a much larger footprint, the reference Marvell Armada was also fairly large and rectangular, hmm

That looks great! - wish it would support place shifting though (so I can watch my cable from my phone, or remotely)

Google needs to add place shifting and they'll have instant user base (people who own Slingboxes, and Vulkano's). Used to have the Sony Google TV / BlueRay box and it already had an IR Blaster. They just need to add a hardware H.264 encoder, and expose an API for said encoder, + IR Blaster API and you won't have any problems finding developers writing a place shifting app for it.

Not bad at all. I have a wdtv that I use and it doesn't support amazon streaming and only hulu plus. If this works with regular hulu and Amazon that would be awesome. Does roku support those? I also have an OnLive box and it works well if you have a good connection. I have the older controller and it's a little heavy but it's wireless and feels pretty good. They have a universal one that works with pc/tablets.

Plus they're testing a cloud client apps thing so you can work on ms office type stuff directly off their machines. This looks similar in size so it's probably just as easy to take this along with you on trips so you can play games work on your productivity suites.

No more free shipping, though. With tax charged as well, I might as well wait for it to arrive on shelves.

With OnLive service going under anyone plan on returning this device now? I'm thinking about it. I have the package at home waiting for me but, i'm inclined not to open it now.
